A Grievance From The Past

In recent headlines there’s been a lot of attention on topics of Fraud, Waste, and Abuse which has put many so-called government institutions in the spotlight. And when the public discovers the level of, not just frivolous but outright absurd, waste, then not only are our eyebrows raised but questions become more than expected, they are absolutely prevalent!

But when the recipients of these financial reservoirs are challenged for their validity, cries and moaning can be heard of what is perceived as “In Justice.” We have an opportunity to call out our elected officials and the offices they represent and demand a reckoning through independent audits and also something far more compelling. We have a chance to remind them of why this is wrong and why this action was listed as one of 27 grievances by the founding fathers that led us to a separation from Great Britain!

Pull out your copy of The Declaration of Independence (And YES you should have one on your person most of the time) and let us skip down to grievance #10

“He has erected a Multitude of new Offices and sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our People and eat out their Substance.”
Grievance# 10

Over more than half a century there has been more Offices, Departments, Agencies, and Bureaucracies created than our founders would have ever dreamt necessary. How can I be so sure of this? Because this type of behavior from the King of England was still very fresh in their memories. While there is not the time nor space on this platform to quote stories and events from the average citizens today who’ve been at the receiving end of the “Harassment” of one of these “Offices” you can be assured that there is one specific element that has affected each and every one of them: They have had their “Substances” eaten away by funding these “Offices.” Yes, I’m referring to taxes. You see the Federal government does not produce a product whereby they can sale in order to generate more revenue to fund these endeavors. They get their funding from the TRUE 4th branch of the government (I’ll share more on this in a separate post); The Constituency otherwise known as “We The People!”

If it was a grievance that was severe enough to be listed as a reason to declare our independence, then maybe we should be shuttering more of these Offices. After all, the end result will be less tax on the one footing all the bills anyway.
